Committees
After joining LEIAS, each member is placed in a committee so they can get involved in the planning and creation of our events, as well as get an opportunity to meet other members. The committee options are Sisterhood, Social, Service, Special Events, Philanthropy, Fundraising, Academic Success, and Public Relations.
Sisterhood
Our Sisterhood Committee focuses on ensuring that we create long-lasting and close-knit connections between our members through bonding events like Sisterhood Retreat, Big Little Families, Galentine’s, and Friendsgiving!
Social
Our Social Committee plans our mixers, date parties, and various events with other organizations! Committee members help decorate, pick themes, and plan these fun events!
Service
Our Service Committee focuses on giving back to our community through various events such as LEIAS Day of Service, Dog Toy Making, and volunteering at Aggieland Humane or Habitat for Humanity.
Philanthropy
Our Philanthropy Committee strives to raise as much money as possible for Urgent Animals of Hearne through fun events like Carnation Sales for Valentine’s Day, Sand Volleyball Tournaments, the Northgate Bake Sale, Trivia Night, Easter Egg Hunt, Raffle Contests, and more!
Special Events
Our Special Events Committee plans our Semi-Formal, Formal, Mom’s Brunch, Dad’s BBQ, and any alumni outreach. Committee members help plan, set up, and decorate for these events!
Fundraising
Our Fundraising Committee works to obtain funds for Leias, so we can continue to provide the best events we can for our girls! Some of our recent events have been Dog Shows, Valentines Bake Sale, Thrift Store, and Kendra Scott Profit Share! We hope to do so much more this coming semester!
Academic Success
Our Academic Success Committee aims to promote healthy study habits through Study Sessions and Resume Workshops, as well as mental health through Mental Health Workshops where we bring in various speakers to remind us of the importance of our mental well-being. Most recently, we made slime at a Mental Health Workshop to de-stress!
Public Relations
Our Public Relations Committee focuses on promoting our organization and our events through social media and our twice-yearly merch sales. We strive to get our message out through social media to as many people as possible so we can raise even more money for Urgent Animals of Hearne!
Recruitment
The Recruitment Committee plays a key role in shaping the future of LEIAS by planning and organizing the new member retreat, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for potential members. They are also responsible for brainstorming and implementing creative ideas and themes to attract a diverse group of new recruits. This committee is deeply involved in the recruitment season, working closely together to select candidates who will contribute to the values and vision of LEIAS, ultimately helping to define the organization’s future leadership and culture.
